Trying To Sell A Home In North Texas Can Leave You Hurting

sell a home in north texas

As experienced Flower Mound real estate professionals, we know there are times when some potential buyers just aren’t that into a seller’s home. Sometimes trying to sell a home in North Texas can leave you with hurt feelings or wondering if something went wrong along the way, but there are plenty of reasons buyers choose to skip your home – reasons you shouldn’t take personally!

Buying a home is a very personal thing; buyers want the home of their dreams, just like they want the perfect person to spend the rest of their lives with. Perhaps a few buyers have said they “love” your home or “it’s perfect.” You never hear from them again, even though one or two may have actually said they would make an offer. Don’t get frustrated or let it get you down – here’s why.

Buyers are sometimes (often, actually) tire kickers. They love to look at dozens of homes, and there may be certain features and amenities they like, others they’re not so crazy about. Perhaps someone who seemed interested in your home really did like it a lot, but prefers a larger kitchen or open floor plan. It doesn’t mean there’s anything at all wrong with your home!

Of course those in the market to buy a home are picky; you would be too. A home is where you plan to spend at least the next several years, maybe forever. People are different, and their tastes in a home are as different as they are. Keep your chin up, the right buyer WILL come along.

Sometimes it’s not actually anything at all to do with the home, but something else – like a huge yard. Lots of people just aren’t that into yard work, even though they may be head-over-heels about the house. Maybe a couple looked at your home two or even three times and you were certain they were the ones. What happened? They ultimately decided they didn’t want to spend hours on the lawn each week mowing, edging, maintaining the flower beds or shrubs, etc. It happens.

In some cases, looky-loos simply aren’t really ready to buy. There are lots of people who are just more interested in browsing and aren’t nearly to the point of buying. That’s just how it is; sometimes people are curious or even nosy.

Whatever the reason, there is a buyer for your home if you have patience. Stay upbeat, don’t get your hopes up too high every time someone comes to look at your home, and above all, work with a Flower Mound realtor who is dedicated to finding THE buyer for your beautiful home! This is the third house that Team Nelson has sold for us. With sales of homes dropping throughout the Metroplex Team Nelson had us an offer in less than 10 days which we took. The three other homes for sale within a three block area are still on the market after ours has closed.
