Putting Your Dallas Home On The Market – Make Small Bathroom Look Big

dallas home on the market

If you plan on putting your Dallas home on the market, you want it to be as appealing as possible to potential buyers. You may or may not know that for buyers, the kitchen and bathrooms are the most important rooms in the house. Have a bathroom that’s small and cramped? You can make it appear more spacious than it actually is with these tips!

Lighter and brighter equals bigger. Dark rooms always look smaller, while rooms that are light and bright feel more open and spacious. If there is a window in the bathroom maximize the natural light from outdoors by using a window covering that’s sheer and light colored. The colors you use in the room make a huge difference in how spacious it feels, so opt for light colors on the walls, ceiling and floor. You’ll also want to avoid using several colors in a small bathroom as this can interrupt the flow and make it appear choppy.

Clear the clutter. Clutter gives a room a crowded, disorganized look and takes away much-needed visual space. Put away the blow dryer, hairspray, deodorant, hair brush, toothpaste and other items we all tend to leave on the vanity.

Put the bathmat away to open up the floor space.

Opt for a pedestal sink instead of a full vanity. Large vanities can take up a lot of real estate in the bathroom, so consider a pedestal sink which will take up only a fraction of the space.

Mirror, mirror on the wall. How about two, or even three? Big mirrors and plenty of them will open up the bathroom because they reflect light.

Recessed shelving and cabinets work to provide storage space without intruding. When possible, try to create storage areas that are flush with walls rather than sticking out. This makes for a more streamlined, spacious look.

Create an appearance of height in the room. Raise window coverings and the shower curtain to the ceiling to make the ceiling seem higher and the window larger.

You can create many illusions in a small bathroom that make it appear much larger than it really is, making it more attractive to buyers!
