Flowers are blossoming, lawns are turning green, and Spring is upon us, which means many people looking for a new home will begin taking a drive through those neighborhoods they dream of living in. The problem is, housing inventory is extremely low, which means that those that are on the market will leave potential home buyers in an all-out war to see who can snatch them up first! At Team Nelson, our Dallas real estate professionals have a few tips up our sleeves that will increase your success when you’re ready to buy a new Flower Mound or Frisco home.
The fact is, all types of homes are being snatched up nearly as quickly as they hit the market, including regular homes, HUD and foreclosed homes. What this means is that home prices will go up, essentially making it harder for home buyers to get their offers accepted. You may even find yourself in a bidding war!
Here’s what we suggest:
- Most importantly, have an experienced buyer’s agent in your corner. Your buyer will keep a close eye out on the market on a daily basis and represent your interest – and it won’t cost you a dime since the sellers pays the realtor’s commission! You can also expect a smoother closing with the help of a buyers agent.
- When there are numerous offers on the table for a home, don’t make the mistake of assuming the sellers will counter your offer – in fact, never make any assumptions. Make your best (and highest) offer initially.
- When you find “the home,” take action immediately by having your agent write up an offer and get it to the seller’s agent at once; also attach a mortgage pre-approval letter to make your offer even more attractive.
- Know that there may be a time when you will have to drop everything in an instant to go look at a home should your agent find one that suits your criteria. When homes are in demand and inventories low, there’s no time to waste!
For the best possible chance of owning the home you have your eyes (and heart) set on, keep these tips in mind! At Team Nelson, we’re the Dallas real estate agents who will do everything possible to make sure the “odds” are in your favor when it comes to buying a beautiful Flower Mound, Frisco, or Denton home.
