Frisco is a beautiful city and part of the DFW metro, located just 20 minutes north of Dallas. As real estate professionals who are passionate about the communities we work in, we’re excited to learn that Frisco is becoming the new headquarters of the PGA of America as it moves from Palm Beach County!
According to news reports the PGA of America will move to Frisco during the summer of 2022. About 100 employment opportunities will be available initially, and other facilities are in the works along with the PGA of America headquarters including a convention center and hotel located within a 6oo-acre complex.
PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh said that “Everything great starts with a dream” and that “Our move to Frisco will be the transcendent for the PGA of America.” One significant driving factor behind the move to Frisco is economic opportunities.
It is estimated the economic impact of the agreement will be more than $2.5 billion for North Texas over the coming 20 years. Under the agreement a Ryder Cup could potentially be held in North Texas, along with two KPMG Women’s PGA Championships and two PGA Championships.
According to the PGA of America website, the Frisco signature development will include parks and open space, a retail village, clubhouse, office space, two championship golf courses and more. The Frisco ISD board of trustees, the Frisco City Council and its Economic and Community Development Corporations voted on the groundbreaking agreement, moving the PGA of America headquarters to the ‘2018 Best Place to Live in America.’
This is exciting news for Frisco and all of North Texas!
