Flower Mound Real Estate – 5 Master Bath Trends For 2013

At Team Nelson, our Flower Mound real estate agents know that when it comes to buying a home, the two rooms potential home buyers check out first are the kitchen and bath. Sure, it’s important that the entire home is beautifully designed with an efficient floor plan, but the kitchen and bath are two rooms that often become outdated before the rest of the home. We’re excited to reveal 5 of the most popular master bath trends for 2013!

Here’s our list of the top five:

Added storage. Bathrooms can tend to look cluttered, particularly when you don’t have room underneath the vanity for all of your lotions, cleaners, hair care products, etc. This year, it’s all about extra storage in the form of open shelving, floor-to-ceiling cabinets, and wrap-around cabinets. Plenty of space for extra bath towels, linens, and all those “potions” that keep you beautiful.

Larger showers. If you have ever found yourself wishing you had just a bit more space in the shower, this is your year! Expanded showers offer features like dual shower heads, tile benches, and built-in niches.

Heated flooring. Imagine stepping out of the shower during colder winter months to a nice warm floor! In 2013, heated floors are a luxury add-on many people will choose. Temperatures aren’t always that chilly even in winter months in Texas, but it’s nice to enjoy a warm floor on those cool mornings or evenings.

Oversized tubs. Nothing eases the stress of a busy day away like soaking in the tub, and they’re getting bigger than ever. Today, more men are pampering themselves by enjoying a long soak, which means tubs are getting larger – and extended lengths are becoming more common as well.

His and hers vanities. In the master bath, many homeowners will enjoy two separate vanities with completely separate countertops for him and her. Each has its own sink and storage, offering more space for personal items, and a real his-and-hers feeling.

While the bathroom used to be simply a place where family members took care of hygiene and other “personal” issues, today it is a place where busy parents take refuge and relax at the end of the day. For some, the bath is a sanctuary, the only room in the home where you can truly be alone, if just for a few short (but wonderful) moments!

Team Nelson focuses on Flower Mound, TX real estate, and helping match families with their perfect homes.
